Russian tourist dies in motorbike accident in Vietnam

A 42-year-old Russian tourist died on the spot after crashing a motorbike into a wall in Nha Trang Monday, Tuoi Tre newspaper reported.

Andrei Gololobov was riding at high speed towards the port at around 10 a.m. when the accident happened, the newspaper quoted witnesses as saying.

He turned in front of the Institute of Oceanography on Tran Phu Street when he crashed into its outer wall and fell off, they said.

He was on holiday in Nha Trang along with some other Russians, and was sightseeing on a rented motorbike when the tragic accident occurred.

A city official said his body has been sent to the Khanh Hoa Province General Hospital.

Local agencies are coordinating with the Russian consulate in Ho Chi Minh City to complete procedures to send the body back to Russia, he added.
