Two brothers were killed in a rockslide at an illegal rock mine in the northern province of Nghe An Tuesday.

Vu Van Hung, 24, and Vu Van Bao, 22, in Tam Hop Commune, Quy Hop District were hit by a boulder that dropped from nearly 30 meters high while they were working at the site, local newswire Vnexpress on Wednesday cited local governments as saying.

The site was being mined by a private company whose operations license had been suspended earlier. The company's name was not made available.

Many accidents have occurred at mines in the mountainous province.

Late last month, a man was killed by a rockslide in Chau Quang Commune, Quy Hop District. In January, four people were killed when a rock mine collapsed in Quynh Luu District.
