Joining forces with the community for constant and timely supply of safe blood is a part of the mission of Roche Diagnostics in Vietnam.
In order to supply the safety blood demand for the society, support the blood transfusion demand and medical treatment, Roche Vietnam Co. Ltd. has co-operated with the National Institute of Hematology and Blood transfusion (NIHBT) in “Le hoi Xuan hong” 2015 through sending colleagues to donate blood and supporting a number of communicational materials, tools used during the event to increase public’s awareness about blood donation, its humanity meaning and propagandize the event as well.
On the morning of Mar 8, at My Dinh National Stadium, the event was a success with the participant of Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan and unions, officials and citizens living and working in Hanoi and nearby provinces.

There is 20,000 people attended this year’s event and 7,500 people donated the blood. The numbers are proving the increasing dedication of compassion and volunteering in blood donation in Vietnam.
In Vietnam, we need about 1.6 million blood units per year, however, at present; it can meet about 40 percent of real demand only. Safe blood supply has got more and more attention from the authorities, HCPs, healthcare organization and community by concrete actions such as this “Le hoi Xuan hong” event. All blood units collected at "Le hoi Xuan hong" will be screened by serology and NAT technologies.
Donated blood will be screened carefully using NAT technologies.
Ms Le Thi Sao Mai, an employee of Roche Vietnam Co., Ltd., said: “Le hoi Xuan hong" is a meaningful event that all about loving and sharing.
"The event is organized only once a year so I feel very happy to be able to be here, among other of my colleagues, friends and other peoples and contribute my humble share. I hope that more and more people will join such activities and donate blood to save lives. I wish the event successful this year and the following years.”
