Security guards and clients at a bank in southern Vietnam seized a man after he allegedly stormed in and snatched a cash amount of VND 27 million (US$1,300) from a bank clerk.
Nguyen Thi Cam Nhung, an employee of a VP Bank’s branch in An Giang Province, said she was receiving the money from her colleague when Do Canh Dong ran towards her out of nowhere and took the cash.
She shouted for help, prompting many people inside the bank to chase after Dong.
They handed him over to the police after he was caught.
Dong, 36, is a drug addict living in the province, police said.
A customer, who helped arrest him, has been rewarded by the bank.
