Rescuers recovered the bodies of two 14-year-old boys, on Friday, both of whom had drowned in the Sai Gon River two days earlier.
The bodies of Vo Hoang Duy and Doan Thanh Long, both eighth graders at the Hoa Phu Secondary School in Cu Chi District, were discovered early Friday on a section of the river in Hoa Phu Commune.
At around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Duy, Long and five friends went swimming in the river.
Six of the seven boys were swept away by the current.
The one boy who remained close to the shore called nearby residents for help. The rescuers managed to save four boys, but Duy and Long drifted out of sight.
Rescuers spent more than a day searching for the boys until they recovered their bodies on Friday.
