Authorities in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum have reburied the remains of 77 of 81 martyrs that were discovered on a mountain late last year, a local official said Wednesday.

The soldiers were identified as belonging to a regiment that died in 1986 in a battle with the US army.

According to A Kim, chairman of Sa Thay District's People's Committee, a memorial ceremony for the martyrs will be held after Tet (Lunar New Year festival, which lasts eight day starting on February 3).

Meanwhile, local agencies are searching for more remains on the top of the Chu Tan Kra Mountain in Sa Son Commune, Kim said.
