Police in the northern province of Hai Duong on Monday said four local police officers have been suspended after a video emerged on the Internet showing them playing cards in their office.
They said the officer who filmed and published the video will be punished as well.
One of the suspended officers is Pham Thanh Giang, the chief of a district-level police department, Colonel Bui Ngoc Phi of Hai Duong Police told local media.
Phi said the video was secretly filmed by an officer in the same department.
The officer, whose name has not been revealed, reportedly posted the one-minute video on the Internet on February 16.
“We will impose appropriate measures after further investigation,” Phi said. "We promise to strictly handle the case.”
Phi added that the officer who filmed the video will also face punishment for "posting an internal video on the Internet.”
