Local agencies in the northern province of Bac Giang are investigating two continuous explosions that went off on a truck Friday, the VnExpress newswire reported.

The blasts happened early Friday morning after 29-year-old Tran Thanh Nghi had parked the truck in front of his house.

Nghi was sleeping in the truck's cockpit, but he wasn't injured except for some dizziness, the VnExpress report said.

The explosions heavily destroyed the truck's head, and many trees several meters way were damaged by debris from the blast, it added.

The newswire quoted Bac Giang Province's Military Headquarters as saying that the explosions must have been caused by more than two kilograms of explosives placed by someone who knew how to use them.

Meanwhile, police suspect the attack was related to personal conflicts. Nghi has worked as a driver for local contractors for many years and he had bought the truck about three months ago for VND500 million (US$23,800).

Investigations into the case are underway.
