Patrol boats collide on Saigon River, officer injured: police chief

The commander of Binh Duong Province police has confirmed a collision between two patrol boats of Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday evening on the Saigon River. There were no fatalities, he said.

Since the accident happened in Binh Duong, the police here is in charge of investigating the case, Tran Minh Huu, Director of Binh Duong Police Department, said Friday.
A HCMC police officer got shoulder and chest injuries in the collision, he said.
Colonel Vo Van Van, chief officer of HCMC Water Police Department, said Thursday that the injured, Captain Nguyen Van Dong, and some other officers are being treated at the April 30 Hospital in HCMC.
Col. Van claimed he too was "waiting for the conclusion" of Binh Duong Police about the accident.
