The Binh Thuan police are hunting for a man who entered the province General Hospital’s emergency ward and stabbed a patient over an earlier personal conflict.
It happened on October 10 when Nguyen Van Hung and Nguyen Van Quyen, both 21, were being treated at the hospital for injuries suffered in a fight.
The hospital’s CCTV shows the wanted man, Cuong, enter the emergency ward pretending to visit the patients.
After a while, he whips out a knife and stabs Hung several times before leaving.
Doctors said Hung suffered a deep injury in his neck but is stable after treatment.
Hung’s relatives suspect that Cuong was among several men who had attacked Hung and Quyen during the fight earlier on the same day when the two were drinking at the house of Bui Van Tien in Ham Thuan Bac District.
A group of men suddenly attacked with machetes, but fled when several people in the house counterattacked, leaving Quyen and Hung with multiple injuries.
The cause of the fight and other details are not known yet.
The police have summoned 11 people involved in the fight for questioning.
