A double-decker carrying 30 people burst into flames on a road in Vietnam's Central Highlands on Sunday night, but no one was injured.
The driver said the bus was travelling on National Road 14 from Gia Lai Province to Daknong Province when he smelt something burning and noticed smoke coming from the front of the bus at 9pm.
He pulled over and all 28 passengers got off safely just minutes before the bus became fully engulfed.
The fire may have started in the vehicle's brake calipers, the driver said. The exact cause is under investigation.
Witnesses said the driver, his assistant and some passengers attempted to use extinguishers and blankets to put out the fire, but in vain.
The fire escalated quickly and, by the time two local fire engines, stationed 20 kilometers away, reached the scene, the bus had been reduced to a charred metal frame.
The passengers were transferred to another bus to continue their trip.
