One worker died and two were injred after soil collapsed at the construction site of a house in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on Sunday.
At around 10 am, Tuong Dinh Quyet, 29, Nguyen Thi Huong, 36, and another worker named Duong were working at the construction site of a house on Hoang Dieu Street in Da Lat City when a pile of soil measuring around five meters in height collapsed and buried them.
Nearby residents dug the soil up to pull the three workers out.
Duong had dead by then. Quyet and Huong were injured and rushed to hospital.
Initial investigations show that the owner of the house ordered the workers to take soil out of the ground as the house's foundation was higher than the street's surface.
According to local police, the house is being built by a private contractor. Construction of the house was suspended pending further investigations.
