A court in Hanoi on Monday decided to place a famous actress on probation for nine months after she was found guilty of resisting police officers and slapping one of them earlier this year. 
Tran Thi Trang is pregnant and the court also found that the first-time offender had showed remorse. 
In Vietnam, resisting and attacking police officers can lead to a jail term of up to seven years. 
Better known as Trang Tran, the model-turned-actress was detained on February 27 for insulting and attacking traffic police officers who had flagged down her taxi for driving the wrong way on a one-way street in the capital city.

Later, after being taken to the police station for questioning, Trang was seen hurling insults at officers in a video that quickly went viral.
She was released on March 2 after apologizing in writing, admitting she had been so drunk that she could not control herself.
Soon after being released, the famous actress announced her pregnancy on Facebook. 
Trang is known in the entertainment industry for being very outspoken. She told the media in 2012 that many models she knew did sex work to earn money for their luxurious lifestyle.
