A police sergeant in the northern province of Nam Dinh hit a motorist on Friday, breaking her leg, but did not stop, local newswire Vnexpress reported Sunday.
Phan Doan Hiep, 25, was driving a police car when he crashed into 26-year-old Tran Thi Yen Thoa. The accident broke one of her legs and damaged her motorbike.
But eyewitnesses said Hiep didn't stop after hitting Thoa.
The car was found later that same day at the Nam Dinh city police with some frontal damage.
Police have said they will investigate the case and strictly punish Hiep if he had fled the scene of the accident.
