Two xe om (motorbike taxi) drivers were stabbed, one of them fatally, by a group of people including other xe om drivers in what appears to be a conflict over "stealing" customers in HCM City's Binh Ti Dong Ward, Binh Tan District.

Around 3 am Sunday morning, Tran Huu Hoang, 51, and Pham Tho Thanh Binh, 35, ran to a local guard station to report being attacked, and Hoang died on the way to the hospital, the An Ninh Thu Do (Capital Security) newspaper reported.

Binh told the police that he and Hoang were riding on a bike together when a group of men chased them, beat them up and stabbed them. He said he and Hoang were not working then.

Police suspect that the attack was linked to arguments over customers. They have launched an investigtion and are looking for the attackers.
