A Ho Chi Minh City man cheated death without injury after a truck-mounted crane lowering a transformer weighing several tons suddenly collapsed onto him on Friday.
The crane operator was injured in the accident and was immediately rushed to hospital.

Trinh Thanh Duc was driving down the tree-lined Pham Ngoc Thach street in District 3 during the sudden collapse.
Duc's bike was crushed under the fallen truck.
Everybody at the scene watched, breathlessly, while Duc slowly crawled out from under the vehicle.
“The crane suddenly fell over, making me and my bike fall down on the road. I was in a total panic. But then I realize that there was somehow a hole in the wreckage, which saved me from the accident,” said Duc.
The accident happened while the crane, operated by an employee of the Saigon Electricity Company, was lowering a 150-kilovolt transformer down to the ground for maintenance.
