Police in Long An Province are looking into a brutal murder of a mother and her two children, whose bodies were discovered at their home on Thursday morning.
Tran Thi Phuong said she saw the body of her daughter-in-law in a pool of blood after entering the house at around 8 a.m.
“I did not see the kids going out for school, so I came in to check,” Phuong said in tears.
Police said Do Thi Kim Nguyen, 30, and her son and daughter, aged 9 and 10, all had their throats slit. The bodies of the children were found in their bedroom.
Investigators also found a blood-stained knife near Nguyen’s body.
Phuong said all the jewelry that Nguyen had been wearing before her death was taken.

Vo Van Quoc, a shrimp farmer in Ben Tre told Thanh Nien that Thanh fainted. Thanh reportedly stayed at Quoc's house on Wednesday night.
The couple has three children. The oldest, 11-year-old Nguyen Thi Binh Nhu, lives with the grandparents at a house nearby.
