Police in Ho Chi Minh City have put out a warrant for a man who allegedly stabbed a traffic officer after stopped for a violation on Monday night.
A statement from the city police said the man and five others were driving their motorbikes in zigzag at high speed at around 11 p.m. on September 7 when officers on the street stopped them to check their papers.
As one of them refused to show the paper, so an officer threatened to seize his bike. The man shouted at the officer and suddenly pulled out a knife to stab the 31-year-old in his chest before fleeing on foot.
The officer is now in stable condition.
