Man stabbed in funeral services' fight for bodies

A man was stabbed in a fight between employees of two rival funeral services over the right to take care of the bodies of two men killed in a traffic accident in Dong Nai Province Tuesday, police said.
The suspect in the stabbing of Tran Van Be Minh fled the scene immediately, the police said. Minh, 30, was admitted to Long Thanh Area General Hospital with serious injuries.
According to the police, the accident happened at around 3 p.m. Tuesday when a motorbike crashed into the concrete divider on National Road 51 connecting Bien Hoa and the beach town of Vung Tau.
Two riders, identified as Nguyen Huy Cuong and Pham Van Vung, died on the spot.
Soon after, employees of two nearby funeral services, Long Tho and Phuoc Thien, arrived at the scene to contact the victims' relatives.
Even as traffic police were investigated the accident, the two groups got involved in a quarrel over who would offer the service for the dead, which was followed by an exchange of blows.
A man of Long Tho service suddenly took out a knife and stabbed Minh, who works for Phuoc Thien.
Investigation in the stabbing is ongoing, police said.
