Man robs British woman in downtown HCMC, arrested after police chase

Police in Ho Chi Minh City early Thursday morning arrested a local man who allegedly snatched a handbag from a British woman, after chasing him along many streets in the city.
A group of officers secretly followed Nguyen Tuan Tu, 25, at around 2:30 a.m., just before he grabbed the handbag of the tourist on Nguyen Trai Street.
He then sped up and ran away on his motorbike. 
The police officers chased after Tu on many roads, forcing him to leave his vehicle and start running into a small alley on foot. 
He then climbed onto the roof of a house, trying to escape. 
The officers followed him and knocked him out. 
The victim has received all of her belongings, including some cash and two credit cards.
Police said the man had recently been released from prison, where he served his sentence also for robbery.
