A man in north central Vietnam is facing criminal charges after he hit and killed his wife when she tried to make him leave a card gambling game on October 23.
Tran Thi Hiep first tried to talk Cao Manh Cuong out of the game, said eyewitnesses in Ha Tinh Province.
When she failed to stop Cuong from playing cards, Hiep then took Cuong's money from the round to force him to stop, at which time she received a fatal punch to her neck, the witnesses said.
Cuong, a 36-year-old factory worker, has been detained for further investigation, news web site Dan Tri reported.
Police said they will also look into the process of the game.
