A man who claims to suffer from mental disorders reportedly killed a seven-year-old boy in Ho Chi Minh City Tuesday.
Witnesses said Nguyen Gia Hung, a first-grader, had gone to play in the house of 59-year-old Tran Hoa in District 8 early Tuesday morning.
At around 1 p.m. Hoa went to meet Hung's family members and informed them that he had slashed Hung's head with a knife many times.
Hung's foster father, Tran Nguyen Van Minh, rushed to Hoa's house where he found Hung lying on the floor covered with blood.
The boy died on the way to a local hospital.
Hoa, who is currently in custody, told police that he had mental disorders and admitted he had killed Hung.
Police said they are investigating the case further. No other details about the case was made available.
