Police in Dong Nai Province on Tuesday evening rushed a drug-addict into the hospital after he had badly injured himself inside a crowded bank earlier in the afternoon.
Tuan, 22, rushed into an Agribank office in Bien Hoa, the capital town of Dong Nai, at around 4 p.m., breaking a lot of equipment inside the office and insulting others.
Many customers and bank officers reportedly ran out of the place.
The man, who had signs of a drug high, climbed on a counter, where he had demolished the glass frames, a note counter, a computer and two other fake note detectors, and began to dance.
When the police reached the place, Tuan threatened to kill himself if being seized.
He later stabbed himself on the belly with a pair of scissors and a piece of broken glass, causing severely bleeding wounds.
Police seized him at around 6:40 p.m. and rushed him into the Dong Nai General Hospital.
When being sent to the hospital, Phan Van Tuan continued to scream and intended to attack doctors, so police had to constrain him during the treatment.
The incident had blocked all business transactions at the bank office during the afternoon working time, authorities said.
