Security guards at Noi Bai Airport detained a local passenger on Monday morning for disturbing the peace.

Pham Tuan Anh, the deputy director of the Noi Bai International Airport said his security team quickly handed Nguyen Van Toan, 27, over to local police.

According to Anh, the young man drove his motorbike into the automobile area at around 7 a.m. on Monday.

Then, Toan parked his vehicle, insulted a security guard and headed to the international check-in counter.

After explaining he intended to fly to Da Nang, airport staff attempted to direct him to the domestic check-in gate.

Toan allegedly refused to leave and suddenly jumped over the counter, terrifying female employees and passengers standing nearby.

Security guards appeared soon afterward and found him rolling around on the ground, complaining of abdominal pains.

Airport health care officials failed to find anything wrong with the man.

Deputy Director Anh said Toan appeared to be under the influence of drugs.
