Police in the central province of Quang Nam said Monday they have arrested a man for allegedly establishing a website to fleece people.

Le Van Phap, 22, who set up quahe.us and offered guaranteed prizes, will be in custody for two months.

According to the police he offered various prizes and promotions like fancy phones and motorbikes to people sending money to certain mobile phone accounts, and pocketed the amounts.

In late July, he used a fake name telling a student from the nearby Da Nang that he had won a Yamaha motorbike and asked the boy to put money in some accounts to gain the prize. The boy was cheated VND20 million (US$960).
