Police arrested one of two men they allegedly caught selling more than a kilogram of methamphetamine on a Hanoi road around midnight Sunday.
Officers who were on patrol chased after the two suspects on a motorbike at high speed before the two fell off their vehicle and fled on foot, leaving behind a paper bag.
One of the suspects reportedly threw a large flowerpot he found in front of a house at an officer, injuring him.
The other officers, with the help of local police, seized the attacker later.
The 33-year old, identified as Vu Van Nam, admitted to bringing the drug in the paper bag from the northern province of Lang Son a few hours earlier.
The police said they are hunting for the other man.
