Police in Santa Ana have reportedly arrested a local man suspected of heavily beating an 83-year-old man of Vietnamese origin on the street on Friday morning.
Demarrea Barnes, 29, was arrested one day after the attack, AP reported.
Surveillance camera shows he repeatedly kicked and punched the victim, identified as Tuyen Nguyen, in a strip mall parking lot in Little Saigon.
Police said the attack was unprovoked. The motive is still unknown.
They are investigating Barnes, believed to be homeless, for assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury, according to AP.

The family said Nguyen was staying at a local hospital for treatment of brain hemorrhage and broken facial bones.
