Police in southern Vietnam have arrested a man who allegedly detonated a bomb at his front door targeting his wife.
Dang Duc Truong, 54, has admitted to planning the explosion that severely injured his wife on January 1, said police in Dong Nai Province Tuesday. The province neighbors Ho Chi Minh City.
Truong said he and his wife had conflicts that led to many arguments, prompting him to attempt to kill her.
Police had identified Truong as the prime suspect because of his abnormal behaviors after the explosion hurt his 51-year-old wife Hoang Thi Hue.
The husband had been previously convicted of smuggling in explosive materials.
