Malaysians celebrate National Day in HCMC

Malaysian expatriates hosted a Merdeka Raya Gala Dinner to celebrate their 55th National Day at Ho Chi Minh City's Equatorial Hotel on Saturday.

The grand celebration began with the singing of the national anthem and a concert.

The Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam, Dato' Azmil Mohd Zabidi, praised the spirit of unity and comraderie displayed at the celebration.

Theng Bee Han, Chairman of the Malaysia Business Chamber (MBC) in Vietnam, said, "Here in Vietnam, the Malaysians always promote our culture, ideas and experiences."

Han said that the Malaysian community has supported some hospitals and provided education aid to some schools in cooperation with Ho Chi Minh City authorities, and thanked the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO) in particular.
