Malaysian firm fined for pollution

A Malaysian company in south central Vietnam has been fined more than US$6,000 for polluting the environment.

The car manufacturing company JRD Vietnam in Phu Yen Province was punished for discharging wastewater that exceeded the allowable amount of pollutants in two different occasions and put dangerous waste with regular waste.

Authorities in the coastal province also asked the company to build appropriate measures to fix possible oil spills.
