Malaysia seizes two Vietnamese boats

Authorities in the central province of Quang Ngai Tuesday said that two local boats containing 34 Vietnamese crew members have been seized by Malaysian authorities.


So far, Ly Son District officials have yet to make contact with the crews, which were taken into custody on January 6, according to Tran Ngoc Nguyen, chairman of Ly Son's People's Committee.


The provincial People's Committee has proposed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs intevenes and secures the release of the boats.
