Hundreds of employees at a Chinese-invested company in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau refused to eat their lunch after discovering maggots in their food on Wednesday.
The workers at All Wells Vietnam Co.,Ltd, which manufactures sports balls, said they found the maggots in the fish balls being served in the company cafeteria.
Some of the workers threw up. Others skipped lunch. The company allowed all workers to take their afternoon shift off and announced that it would hire a new caterer.
Local authorities are investigating the case.
