Khmer language radio broadcasts in southwest

Two Khmer language radio programs reached southwest areas in Vietnam on Aug 19 due to a new radio station on Cam Mountain in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang.


VOV4 (MW)- the ethnic minority language programing in Khmer language and VOV3 (FM), a music and entertainment program are being broadcasted by Radio Voice of Vietnam (VOV) at the frequency of 91.5Hz.


The frequency now can be reached by 20 million people in the south of Vietnam, where is home to more than one million Khmer ethnic people.


The radio station, including an antenna tower, technical rooms, ultra high frequency transmitter system, cost billions of Vietnam dong.


So far, VOV has set up 11 radio stations with the frequency at 91.5Hz nationwide.
