Low-cost carrier Jetstar Pacific canceled a flight late Sunday after an aircraft was grounded by a bird strike.
A Jetstar representative told Thanh Nien News that the aircraft took off in Ho Chi Minh City and hit a bird as it was about to land at the Vinh Airport in the north-central province of Nghe An.
Luckily the plane landed safely at 10:25 p.m,. Based on national regulations, the plan was grounded pending a thorough mechanical inspection.
As a result, Jetstar was forced to cancel a flight from Vinh to HCMC scheduled to take off at 11 p.m.
The carrier instructed 129 passengers to stay the night in local hotels and board another flight the following morning.
That flight took off at 8:50 a.m. on Monday.
A Jetstar representative said the incident forced the carrier to rearrange the schedules of several flights on Monday.
