Doctors in southern Vietnam are treating a woman admitted to hospital earlier this week with her face cut up by her husband with a saw for sending her photos to friends online.
Phan Hong Nhien was brought to the Ca Mau General Hospital at around 2 a.m. Monday with severely bleeding injuries, including a deep cut on her forehead, injuries on her face and a stab wound in her thigh.
Nhien later said her husband Nguyen Van Til had taken a saw to her forehead, nose and cheeks before stabbing her in the thigh with a pair of scissors.
Til, 31, only stopped after the wife promised not to report to the police.
He later called her mother to “take Nhien’s dead body”, saying he had killed her, the woman told reporters.
The brutal assault was prompted by jealousy after Til found that his wife had sent some of her photos to friends, some relatives of the couple said.
Nhien recently had a nose job and was asking friends for their opinion, they said.
Til, who is at large days after the incident, warned people not to visit his wife, saying it was “a domestic matter.”
