A 60-year-old Japanese man was Tuesday found dead in a Ho Chi Minh City hotel where he had checked in with an unidentified girl earlier the same day.
Details are sketchy with the police only saying that the man, named Kobayashi, had rented a room at Henry Hotel in District 7 and checked in at around noon, and an hour later the girl had left the hotel "in a hurry."
At around 5 p.m. the hotel staff opened the door because the man did not answer their call, and found him dead.
The police said they are investigating the cause of death.
Kobayashi came to Vietnam more than 10 years ago and used to export handicrafts.
