A Japanese expat has got back his wallet more than a month after he dropped it in a bus in Hue in April.
Hue town police on Tuesday returned the wallet with identity papers and 5,000 yen (US$46) to Yasushi Arai, who said he lost it on Apr. 29, during Hue Festival.
According to the police, Nguyen Kim Tung, 47, a local tourist guide, found the wallet in the bus when he was with another group of tourists during the Festival.
Tung handed over the wallet to the police after no one in his group claimed to own it. It was unclear how Arai dropped his wallet on the bus.
“I think it is the best I could do whenI couldn’t find the owner,” he said.
It took Hue police a month to locate Arai, who is working for a fresh water project in Thua Thien Hue Province.
