Japan to loan $306 mln to Vietnam

Japan's government will grant official development assistance (ODA) loans of 28.3 billion yen (US$306 million) to Vietnam in its fiscal year starting on April 1.

Under a diplomatic note signed between the two governments in Hanoi on Friday, the aid will be provided to three major projects: the East-West Highway project in Ho Chi Minh City (14 billion yen), the Support Program to Respond to Climate change in Vietnam (10 billion yen), and the Water Environment project, also in HCMC (4.3 billion).
