Interpol extradites Vietnamese for attacking countryman in Russia

International police have extradited a Vietnamese man from Russia to Vietnam after he was arrested in Moscow in February for armed attacks against a Vietnamese businessman in the country.

The Interpol National Central Bureau for Russia said Pham Thai Ngan was arrested after the victim had requested help from Vietnam's authorities.

The Interpol (International Criminal Police Organization) said Ngan in hired a group of people to attack owner of a garment factory in Dmitrov, a town to the north of Moscow, in August 2010.

He had been making constant threats against the factory owner, demanding a payment of 500,000 rubles (US$15,173) that the victim said he did not owe.
