Rescuers in the southern coastal province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on Sunday brought to shore two Chinese sailors who'd suffered severe injuries from a work accident on their boat.

Wang Ping, 56, had his left leg broken and lungs damaged while Zhanyang, 23, had suffered injuries to both his liver and lungs, doctors said.

The men were working on the Centrals Luckly boat from China. It's not clear what accidents happened to them but their boat sent out May Day signals which were received by Vietnamese rescuers.

In other news, Ba Ria-Vung Tau border guards on Sunday said at least three Vietnamese sailors were still missing after a shipwreck on Saturday; and contact had been lost with another boat since Friday which had three people on board.
