Forest authorities in the Central Highlands town of Da Lat have discovered a new entrance to underground tunnels dug by illegal tin miners under the famous "Valley of Love".
The finding came as Da Lat and Lam Dong Province authorities struggle to end the illegal mining.
The tunnels under the valley were first dug in 1995 and have been destroyed by authorities several times since. But they keep reappearing.
The Lam Vien Forest Management Department said some tunnels it had been inspecting this month were abandoned and staff members found small vents connecting them to new undiscovered tunnels.
Mining machines, carts and axes were found, as well as food and drink.
Police have summoned Ho Dinh Tam, a gardener working near the tunnels, for further investigation.
Earlier, a group of illegal tin miners had been found living in a tent next to Tam's residence in the valley.
