A boy was killed when a fire burned down his house on Lo Sieu Street in Ho Chi Minh City's District 11 after midnight on Wednesday, when he and two others were sleeping.
Police said the fire burned everything in the 60-square-meter house, which had a wooden mezzanine. Only the concrete walls remain. It partly damaged a house next door.
Fire fighters rushed Vu Thi Thu Ngan, 34, and her two children to a district hospital but the boy, 11, died on the way.
Ngan and her 2-year-old daughter have been transferred up to Cho Ray Hospital, a leading one in the city.
The fire was put out at around 1 a.m.
Police are investigating the cause.
