Police in the central town of Hue arrested a man on Sunday for allegedly breaking into a series of women's homes to stab them in the genitals.
Tran Huu Phuc, 23, was arrested after attacking his last known victim at 38 Tran Cao Van Street.
Colonel Pham Van Duc, deputy director of Thua Thien-Hue Province Police, said they were first informed of an attack on September 23 at Hue University of Sciences.
They also took a report from another victim at Hue Education College the next afternoon and another at Truong An Market that night, Duc said.
At nearly 7 p.m. on November 28, a 16-year-old girl was attacked in her home on Phan Chu Trinh Street in Hue.
The police collected victim and eyewitness statements with which to draft a list of suspects.

When the police were informed of the attack on November 30, they managed to catch Phuc.
They found a sharp pencil and a sharp wood stick on his person.
Phuc admitted to having perpetrated eight such attacks in Hue.
Police say he got the idea from a series of Japanese movies downloaded online and said he was not afraid of going to jail.
A source told Thanh Nien Phuc’s father died when he was a child and he has lived with his mother in Hue ever since.
A local hotel said it had employed Phuc as a night receptionist for a month.
The police are consulting with the victims before they officially propose criminal charges against Phuc.
