Ho Chi Minh City cops detain four 'motorbike cowboys'

Police in Ho Chi Minh City detained four locals this week for allegedly snatching cell phones from foreigners.
Nguyen Thanh Tay, 26, Nguyen Ngoc Thien, 17, Ton Quoc Binh, 37, and Dinh Ngoc Bach, 26 were arrested in connection with two different street snatchings on Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon. 
Tay is from the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho; the other three are locals.
Police in District 1 afternoon caught Binh and Bach as they zipped by and tried to seize a cell phone and a handbag from Rocita Ching Man, a 25-year-old Australian, while she was walking down Cong Quynh Street in the area known as the backpacker district.
In a similar fashion, Tay and Thien swooped down on South Korean Song Mun Keun, 37, while he was speaking on his cell phone at the corner of  Tran Hung Dao and Yersin on Wednesday night.
Police chased down the duo down and recovered the phone.
Their investigation into the suspects remains underway.
