As the tide in Ho Chi Minh City may reach high levels between Oct. 26 and Oct. 29, low-lying areas in the city will possibly be inundated during that period, according to the Southern Region Hydro-meteorology Station.
The tide on the Saigon River and on the Dong Dien Canal in Nha Be District may rise to 1.5 meters on Monday and continue to increase to higher levels on Wednesday and Thursday, the station said.
The tide is expected to reach its peak between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. on those days, making the low-lying areas such as District 2 and 7 become flooded during afternoon rush hour, it said.
