A newly-appointed deputy director of Ho Chi Minh City Transport Department passed away Tuesday after falling off the third floor of his house.
Nguyen Tien Dung, 50, was on the terrace of his three-story house to check a water tank and reportedly fell to the ground because he was dizzy.
He was rushed to Cho Ray Hospital in HCMC and later died from severe injuries.
Dung took office last March and was a member of the HCMC Party Committee.
He is also the board chairman and party secretary of Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation (SAMCO).
As a member of HCMC People's Council, Dung nominated himself for the position again in this tenure. An election to select the council members is scheduled for May 22.
