The model of an exhibition center for architectural works and zoning plans to be built in Ho Chi Minh City
Ho Chi Minh City will invest US$35 million in building an exhibition center to display models of the city's historical architectural works and new zoning plans, VnExpress reported Friday.
Work on the five-floor center, which will have a built up area of over 18,000 square meters, is slated to start in the first quarter of next year, the news website quoted Nguyen Van Hiep, head of the project's management board, as saying.
Located on banks of the Saigon River in District 2, the building is expected to open in 2015, he added.
Designed by the French-owned Defrain Souquet Architectes Associés as an eco-friendly work, the center will include a hanging garden.
