Streets that will be blocked to make way for Nguyen Hue Flower Street
Some streets in downtown Ho Chi Minh City would be closed to traffic next month to create the annual flower street for the Lunar New Year, the Department of Transport announced Thursday.
From 6 p.m. on February 5 to 10 p.m. on February 12 (the 5th day of Tet) the section of Nguyen Hue Street between Le Thanh Ton and Ton Duc Thang, and the section of Le Loi between Pasteur and Dong Khoi will be off-limits.
Smaller streets like Nguyen Thiep, Ton That Thiep, Huynh Thuc Khang, Mac Thi Buoi, Ngo Duc Ke, and Hai Trieu will also be closed off fully or partially.
On Thursday work on Nguyen Hue Flower Street began and is expected to take 16 days.
The street will stretch from the central square in front of the People’s Committee office to Ton Duc Thang.
A flower festival will also be held in Phu My Hung Urban Area in District 7.
