Police on Friday arrested two customs officers in Ho Chi Minh City for facilitating the smuggling of powdered milk.

Customs officers at the Vietnam International Container Terminals (VICT) port had earlier found 2,000 packs of Ensure powdered milk in a container labeled children's napkins.

The container was shipped to the port along with three other containers of imported goods.

The police suspect that Phan Thanh Lam and Nguyen Van Hanh of the Saigon Port Customs Office had colluded with the owner of the containers, the Cat Tuong Limited Company, to facilitate the illegal imports.

More details about the origin of the shipment were not available immediately.

The case is being investigated further, police said.
