The city will close the street to traffic between Le Loi and Ton Duc Thang streets until April 28, 2015, according to the Department of Transport.
The storied boulevard will reopen as a pedestrian-only street lined with hundreds of new trees and flower pots.
The investor behind the project has pledged to outfit the street with the latest advanced lighting technology.
